I’m a Prospective Neurolanguage Coach so I have completed the Language Coaching Certification course but I am in the process of passing my assessment and becoming a certified Neurolanguage Coach.

    About me

Over the years, I have come to believe that we learn languages so that we can share our lives with other people.

For me, relationships are one of the most beautiful parts of being human. Language allows us to connect by sharing our ideas, experiences, knowledge and stories. If that is the true purpose of language, then meaningful language learning should begin with the learner rather than with a predetermined curriculum.

My own journey has gradually led me to this belief. After studying Modern Languages at the University of Cambridge, I spent fifteen years teaching English to learners of all ages, including several years as a Director of Studies, and completed the Trinity College London Licentiate Diploma in TESOL. I then spent twenty years working in an international business environment, where English, Italian and French became everyday tools for building relationships, solving problems and collaborating across cultures.

When I returned to teaching in September 2024, I expected to feel as though I had come home. Instead, I realised that I had changed.

Although I still loved teaching, I no longer felt comfortable in an approach driven primarily by syllabuses and coursebooks. I found that I was noticing that the most meaningful learning happened when I responded to what learners brought into the room rather than what the lesson plan required. Their questions, ambitions and interests created richer conversations, deeper engagement and more memorable learning than any predetermined topic could.

Gradually, I came to understand that every learner already possesses a rich life, identity, knowledge and experience. My role is not simply to teach English, but to help learners express more of that richness with confidence, clarity and authenticity. Rather than asking learners to fit the curriculum, I believe the learning should grow from the learner.

Discovering Neurolanguage Coaching felt less like finding a new methodology and more like finding a professional home. Its foundations in neuroscience, psychological safety, personalised learning and learner autonomy gave language and scientific grounding to the philosophy that my own experience had been shaping for many years.

Today, Neurolanguage Coaching underpins everything I do, whether I am working one-to-one, with groups or in more traditional educational settings. I prepare carefully, but I also leave space for curiosity, flexibility and the unexpected moments that often become the most valuable part of the learning journey. Genuine human connection, shared laughter and trust are not extras; they are part of the conditions in which meaningful learning can flourish.

As a lifelong learner, I continue to deepen my understanding of neuroscience, adult learning and language coaching because I believe that the best educators never stop learning themselves.

Above all, I hope my learners leave not only with greater confidence in English, but with the feeling that they can express more of who they already are.
