About me
I’m Irene, a certified Neurolanguage Coach® (ICF-accredited) with a deep passion for languages, culture, and human connection. I grew up in a small Italian town in my family’s hotel, surrounded by the culinary and cultural traditions of my region. From an early age, I learned the art of hospitality and the joy of building genuine connections with people—lessons that continue to shape my work today.
After exploring careers in tourism, journalism, and communication, I found my true calling in teaching Italian as a foreign language. Over the past several years, I’ve helped people from around the world speak Italian with confidence and joy, while also sharing the rich culture and gastronomy of my homeland.
My approach blends neuroscience, coaching, and a deep understanding of relational dynamics. Years of personal development—including a six-year journey in Transactional Analysis and ongoing growth—allow me to help learners overcome blocks, strengthen motivation, and achieve tangible results in a supportive, empowering way.
I also run wine and food experiences in Italy, a way to share authentic Italy through food, wine, and culture, and I'm the author of several publications, including a novel celebrating the beauty and history of my hometown, Sperlonga.

I am a 70 year old American woman and I have been living full time in Italy now for about a year. I chose to work with Irene because my son and his wife were having such positive experiences with her. I have been working with her for about 6 months, twice a week and am signing up for the next round of lessons. Each of us are different in the ways we learn best and this is where Irene's brilliance lies and applies that to the format of the teaching.I actually love grammar! Who knew? So we work through the grammar lessons, design the homework together and, through this part of Italian that I enjoy, I learn vocabulary, how to speak, how to understand, how to read and write the language.We also spend part of each lesson in conversation, which is still the hardest part for me, but it is falling into place bit by bit. Mostly, she is is incredibly supportive, positive and patient, taking time to help me find my own ways to remember parts of each lesson. I can't recommend her enough.
