About me
I was born in Tanzania, raised in the scenic south of England and attended University in Manchester. After meeting my husband underwater in the English Channel, I moved to Germany and embraced the challenge of learning the language and working as a Dialysis Nurse Specialist in a small local hospital.
Following my early career as a health care professional, I engaged in equally fullfilling work as a volunteer with various NGOs in Greece and Indonesia. Following 8 years abroad I returned to Stuttgart and discovered a new passion for English Language Teaching. However, I soon found that some traditional teaching methods fail to meet the unique needs of clients. This insight led me to explore a coaching approach to language learning.
As an enthusiastic scuba diver and mountain hiker, I’ve learned that stepping outside my comfort zone—whether navigating the shifting currents of the ocean or scaling a steep mountain trail—unlocks learning, personal growth, confidence, and resilience. Both activities require determination, motivation, and commitment. Most importantly, they nurture a willingness to embrace the unknown and build trust in the process and in expert guides.
I bring this philosophy to my coaching, helping clients to challenge themselves while offering them a safe space to explore and experiment.

"I still dared to start talking.."
“Daphne is a great person and has a unique gift of teaching you things in a fun way and when things didn't work out with pronunciation, grammar etc. she corrected me, but in such a funny, sweet and nice way that I still dared to just start talking and not shut up for fear of making a mistake.
She also taught me to paraphrase when I couldn't think of a word, which I still do today. Unfortunately, there are no more lessons with Daphne at our company, so I stopped taking them.
If the teacher isn't the right one, it's very difficult to learn.
